Picture
Funding researcher & social coordinator

Born and grown up in Berlin, Jan is half Greek and half German and currently spends his time between Berlin, Athens and the greek island Sifnos.  He has a bachelor degree in Communication in Social and Economic Contexts from the University of Arts, Berlin, and chose to specialise in art and the social. He is particularly interested in social and economic alternatives to the growth paradigm and was part of the logistics team of the 2015 Degrowth Summer School. Jan's attraction to culture and arts is based on their positions and functions as a part of social relations, how they affect society and how they are used as forms of expression. He has recently completed the course 'Training for new trainers', facilitated by Loesje International and funded by the European Union with a focus on non-formal learning, and as a step towards fitting into the European Voluntary Service. He has quickly developed a broad knowledge of the art scene in Athens, where he is very socially active.
