Eóin Shortt

Project Manager & Coordinator
Eóin Shortt or ‘Shorty’, originally from Ireland but based in Sweden, is a skilled museum professional with several years of international experience in the museum, culture and arts sector. This experience has covered cultural centres, art galleries and socio-historical museums and also included project coordination, event planning, organisational and administrative duties, in addition to front of house and educational roles.

Alongside his professional experience he has a background in various activist organisations and projects over many years across several countries and cities, including Dublin, Berlin, Amsterdam, Göteborg, Stockholm, London and now Athens. It is this experience and his strong communication, critical, analytical, and organisational skills which we are delighted to have here at Holobiont Project.

The basic and strict definition of holobiont is that it is a host organism (plant or animal) in interaction with all associated microorganisms as an entity for selection in evolution.. Holobiont describes a long-term physical association between different living organisms encompassing all symbiotic associations, including parasites, mutualists, synergists, and amensalists.
